Playlogic was asked by Sony to create a series of PlayStation Eye showcase experiences that would be launched alongside the PlayStation Eye hardware.

Tori Emaki is a Japanese inspired interactive painting, brought to live by a player using its body to direct a flock of crows around the scene.

As game- and interaction designer I developed the flocking interaction and communicated directly with the Sony London team about our progress.

Considerable effort was put in the birds and their flocking behavior to make it feel just right. I helped to design a system with which the player was able to direct the birds using its arms in front of the PlayStation Eye Camera, without relying on seeing oneself in a mirrored camera feed, which was new at the time

Throughout interactive scene there are several secrets to discover, such as zones to fly through that trigger different kind of visual effects or trigger soundscapes that emphasize different elements in each part.
